Watts Construction and Storage named Chamber Business of the Month

The Adrian Chamber of Commerce’s featured business for January 2010 is Watts Construction and Storage. The construction side of the business is owned by Tim Watts and his son, Jacob Watts. The storage side, is owned by Tim and his wife, Pam.
Watts Construction was started in the late 1960’s, about 1969, by Tim’s father, Delbert Watts. Delbert ran the business until the late 1980’s when he fell off a roof in Adrian and broke his back. Tim then took over the business in 1989 and had been running it ever since.
Jacob first started working for Watts Construction while in high school during summer breaks. In 1998, he began working full-time in the business. Then, about four or five years ago, he became a partner with his dad.
“The main thing we do is to make sure everyone is satisfied with our work,” Tim Watts said. “We do everything in construction, from rough in work, to roofing, remodeling and custom contracting for new housing…from start to finish.” He added that the storage side of the business offers three sizes of units, from 10’ by 20’, to 8’ by 16’ and smaller, 6’ by 16’ spaces, to meet most storage needs.
Anyone wanting more information about construction work or the storage units can call 816-297-2085 or contact Jacob at 1-660-424-0056. “We’d like to thank the appropriate people for nominating us for January,” Tim said. “And for letting us have the opportunity to share our story.”
“We’ve been here for 40 years,” Jacob added. “We hope to be here another 40.”
