State Representative Barney Fisher signs proclamation for Adrian’s Library

The Adrian Community Library joined other community libraries across the nation to celebrate National Library Week, April 10-16, 2011 with an official proclamation signed by State Representative Barney Fisher. “This is typical Adrian.” Representative Fisher included in his remarks, “Where everyone recognizes a need and fills that need.”
Kip Yoss, Adrian Chamber of Commerce President, commented, “This was an early goal of the Adrian Chamber of Commerce and the best accomplishment to date. The Library Board has worked to make it a valuable part of the community.”
The Adrian Library offers books for all ages from a children’s section through large print books as well as current best sellers. A wide array of services includes computer classes, job search resources and a monthly book club. Library cards and computers/Wi-Fi are free. Funding for the library comes through donations, memorials, support at spring and fall community dinners, and Friends of the Library ($25) memberships.
