Sports complex in progress
Volunteers continued work at the new Adrian R-3 Sports Complex on Saturday, April 21. Thirteen loads of concrete were brought in for the locker room and concession stand footings. Many companies and individuals donated labor and supplies to the project, including Ambassador Steel, which provided all the steel for the footings and Rebar, which provided laborers. Shaun Bruto, Steve Lewis, Jim Tenholder, Phil Hughes, Henry Keating, Chopper Bagby and Jay Bagby pour the footings for the locker rooms at the complex. "I believe we're on schedule to be ready for the fall football season. If everything goes according to plan, the field should be seeded and the sprinkler system installed in the next couple of weeks," said Jay Bagby, Adrian R-3 School Board member. Bagby also stated that Aquila will soon install electrical service at no cost. Donations can be made to the Adrian R-3 School Foundation at the Adrian R-3 Superintendent's Office. Those wanting to donate labor can contact Jay Bagby.
