See Miss Marie for something free

By SHARON KIESEL
The Adrian Chamber of Commerce’s featured business for November is Miss Marie’s Spiritual Scents and Tea Shop, located at 40 East Main Street. The business, owned by Sharlene Marie Henthorne, has been open since February.
Miss Marie’s offers customers an exclusive line of wearable art, under Sharlene’s own label, Inner Hippie by Miss Marie. The new line of tie-dyed clothing comes in all sizes for men, women, kids and infants. Sales are taking off both in the shop and online. As well as the clothing line, Miss Marie’s shop features all sorts of delicious and healthy herbal teas and cooking herbs, incense candles, handbags, jewelry, crystals and hand painted items from her art studio. Miss Marie’s also offers customized gift baskets featuring the teas, cooking herbs, and bath products, made to customer specifications.
“We are probably the only place in town where you can get something free, everyday.” Miss Marie said. The free things include samples of the herbal tea of the day and/or a free book from the community book shelf. People can bring in and trade a book or two or they can chose a book to enjoy, to read while sitting on a nearby, comfy sofa.
Miss Marie’s is open Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. From now to December 17, Miss Marie's is collecting blankets, coats, gloves, mittens, hats and scarves for those in need. She is collecting for Blankets to the Streets, a charitable organization founded by a friend of hers in Oklahoma City, OK.
“We are thrilled to be chosen as the business of the month,” Miss Marie added. “We are so happy to be here in Adrian and hope lots more folks come in say hello.” For more information on other products in the shop such as a listing of the many tea flavors and herbs, call Miss Marie’s at 816-297-4250 or go on-line at www.missmariesonline.com.
