"Saddle Up for a Cure" with Relay for Life
Come out, take part and enjoy the evening at Relay for Life this Friday, June 22. The approximate itinerary is:
5:00 p.m. - Survivor Eat; 5:30 p.m. - Kiddie Promenade (12 and under); 6:00 p.m. - Gospel Grannies perform; 6:45 p.m. - Opening ceremonies; 7:00 p.m. - Recognize survivors - survivors make the first lap then family and friends join in;
7:30 p.m. - Auction and Relay Queen; 8:30 p.m. - Southfork perform; 9:00 p.m. - Souled Out Praise Team perform; 9:15 p.m. - Just Friends Band perform; Dark - Luminaries read; Fireworks after luminaries by D&D Fireworks. Games and music throughout the night. 5:00 a.m. - Breakfast by Medicalodge, closing statements and thank yous.
Luminaries will be on sale until June 22, please try and purchase yours before that night. Team members will have luminaries and raffle tickets for sale now until the night of June 22. The raffle tickets are for a chance at 3 great prizes. 1st prize - $500 cash by Heartland Hospice; 2nd prize - Handmade quilt by Carolyn Cumpton; 3rd prize - Birdbath from Kithcart Orchard with birdseed, feeders and etc. from Family Center of Butler.
There are 14 Relay for Life teams participating this year with food booths serving funnel cakes, caramel apples, pizza, candy bars and pickles, homemade ice cream, walking tacos, BBQ sandwiches, cotton candy, popcorn, cinnamon rolls, hamburgers, hot dogs, turkey legs, root beer floats, cowboy beans, brownies, chili to name a few and some may change.
For the auction there will be items such as a handmade quilt by June Cumpton, crocheted afghan by Missie Good, 2 - $25 gift certificates by Midwest Lumber, crocheted afghan by Sheila Durn, basket and homemade quilt by Helen Elliott and family in memory of Harold Alexander, duel handset cordless phone, picnic basket with supplies, coke framed picture, white coke bear cookie jar, 4 Royals tickets, handmade Carolina Lily quilt by Sharon Cumpton, Marilyn Monroe knife in tin, glass and wood TV stand by Sears, and much more.
