R-III announces schedule for make-up days

Under the inclement weather statute a school district is required to make up the first six days of school missed due to inclement weather.  Additionally, there is a requirement to make up the 7th day missed with the 8th day being forgiven, the 9th day is made up with the 10th being forgiven, the 11th day is made up with the 12th being forgiven, and the 13th is made up with the 14th being forgiven.  After the Adrian R-III District has made up 10 days there will be no requirements to make up additional days.

Adrian R-III has missed nine days of school to date and has to make up eight of them. The last day of school will be Friday, May 27 if none or one more day of school are missed due to inclement weather. If several more days are missed, the latest R-III students would go to school is June 1. No further days would have to be made up.

Note: The calculation of the current last day of school was made on February 7, 2011. According to the forecast, it is possible that school could close again prior to Thursday when The Adrian Journal is distributed.
