Record-breaking Oklahoma earthquake felt in Adrian

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake rattled through Prague, Oklahoma last Saturday night. It is reportedly the strongest earthquake in Oklahoma history. It was felt in Adrian and surrounding communities and as far away as Texas, Illinois and Wisconsin.
The earthquake’s epicenter was only 39 miles away from the football game played between Kansas State and Oklahoma State in Stillwater, OK. Reported damage from the record-breaking quake includes: cracked walls, fallen knickknacks, a collapsed roof and other minor damage. There were no major injuries reported.
Janet McCanles of Adrian felt the tremors from the large quake. “I felt it. Jimmy, Keylee and myself were sitting in our living room. We were watching tv.” Amber Spurgeon said, “I was sleeping and it woke me up! I thought I was crazy! I woke my husband and when I checked Facebook and felt a little better!” Vivia Weaver did not feel anything. “I was in Archie and did not feel a thing. My kids must shake the house more than it did!”
Two days later, a 4.7 earthquake was recorded near Prague, OK. Only minor damage has been reported.
