Plane makes emergency landing near Merwin
Sunday afternoon, November 5, Adrian Fire and Rescue, the Bates County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol and other Bates and Cass County Law Enforcement and emergency personnel, including the LifeFlight helicopter worked together in a Mutual Aid response, to locate a small airplane that had reportedly gone down in an area west of Adrian. Searchers found the airplane in a farm field on the area of 11001 Road, about a mile south of Missouri Highway 18. Both parties aboard the aircraft were uninjured. Mechanical problems caused the unplanned set down.
