Optimist Club Independence Day Celebration

Far right: The Adrian Optimist Club selected Jerry “Yogi” Clark as this year’s Grand Marshal for the 4th of July parade. He is a lifelong Bates County resident and a 1958 Adrian High School graduate. Yogi and his wife Karen will celebrate their 36th wedding anniversary in August. Presenting Yogi (left) with a plaque and United States and Missouri flags is State Representative and Adrian Optimist Member Barney Fisher (right).

Pictured right: The Adrian Optimist Club spends all year planning and preparing for the much anticipated 4th of July celebration. People come from all over to join in the all-day festivities. The parade kicks off the day, followed by delicious pork chops, inflatables, kids games, bingo and the popular truck and tractor pull. To close the celebration, the Optimists put on a huge fireworks display.
