Ninth Annual 9/11 Memorial Event in Adrian
By SHARON KIESEL
The Adrian Fire Department will host the 9th Annual 9/11 Memorial processional and observance program, Saturday, September 11, 2010. The processional, which will be held rain or shine, begins at 10am and will go around Adrian Manor to Main Street to the Adrian Optimist Building.
The Life Flight Air Ambulance will fly over part of the processional route then land at the heliport on the Optimist Building grounds. The helicopter crew will stay at the site until the ceremony portion is over.
The event is designed to honor all military, fire, law enforcement, civil defense, ambulance and other emergency personnel. “We’d like for the community to come out to support this honor and memorial service,” said Fire Chief Gary Dizney. He added the memorial service honors all those who work to save lives and all those who died in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on America.
