A new taxi takes the road
Now for the rest of the story. In 1991, Judy Ball, with the help of Gary Ford, the City Manager, asked the City Council for the use of a retired police car to use for a taxi service in Adrian. All approved so it started November 18, 1991. Joanne Buhr has scheduled volunteers for 10 years.
In November 2000, the Adrian Ambulance Service donated funds to purchase a newer vehicle which is still in service! But now the City has offered another former police car; a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria. If you can and will add your name to the service, call Joanne Buhr at 816-297-2559. Any senior citizen who needs transportation (within the City limits) call City Hall at 816-297-2659.
