“We have enclosed storage with four different-sized units and we also have security cameras on the premises,” said Joe Devine. “We are also planning on fencing the perimeter of the property as well.” Joe, and his wife, Marcia, are the owners of J & M Storage, located at 695 North Old 71 Highway. They purchased the business, formerly known as The Home Place, from Mark and Lorainna Hollingshead. Many years ago, the property was once Adrian’s Triangle Lumber Company.

Joe and Marcia are in the process of renovating the main building with living quarters for themselves. Eventually, they plan to use the reception area of that building and open another business after they examine what might best suit the needs of the Adrian community. Also in the works is the expansion of storage units in another building.

The Devine’s are not new to Adrian. They lived here for many years and two of their children graduated from Adrian and went on to become teachers at Ballard. The couple recently returned to Adrian after three years living in the Garden City area. Marcie said Joe works for the electric department for the City of Harrisonville while she works full-time, from home, for the Reliable Property Report, doing on-line titles searches.
