The Little League World Series, a Homerun Derby and a whole lot of community pride

Brody Ford, Adrian, played in the Triple Crown Sports Little League World Series in Steamboat Springs, Colorado July 26 - July 31. Twenty-two teams competed. About this opportunity, Brody said: “My favorite part of the World Series was being able to go to Colorado with all of my team and playing hard.”
Brody’s team, the Brewers, went 1 for 3 in pool play. In a double elimination tournament, the Brewers played their hearts out the first game against the Broomfield Bulls and fell just short of a victory in extra innings.
The second game, against the Pueblo Dirt Dogs, found Brody and the Brewers victorious with an overwhelming 19 runs to Pueblo’s 7. The Brewers then took on the Colt 45’s from Texas and lost, ending their World Series adventure.
While at the World Series, Brody earned an opportunity to participate in the Homerun Derby. Sixty-six players battled their way to make the finals (top six). Brody made the finals. He got one homerun as did Braden Berry of Hume. They tied for 3rd.
The World Series experience is one the Brody, his parents and his family will not soon forget. “I was most excited that my family came to watch me play baseball and that I got to hit in the Homerun Derby. I appreciate all of my family and friends who were at home cheering me on!”
