Lights! Camera! Action! Family fun at the Adrian City Park

By CINDY KENDRICK

The Adrian City Park held a special meeting Wednesday, September 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the City Park. The special meeting was held to finalize and approve plans to hold a family movie night at the City Park. Steve Hubbard made a motion to approve a movie night to be held on October 10, 2009 by the Fun Flicks, LLC Co. Rose Marie Randolph seconded the motion and it carried.

The movie will be held south of the Ferguson Arena at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 10. Movie attendees will need to use the third entrance to the Park, which is on the very east side. Little League football will be holding games that evening also so that area of the Park will be full of cars and people. Please use the far east drive.

The movie will be shown on an inflatable screen. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to get the whole experience. Concessions will be available, but you may bring your own snacks. We hope to organize parking and help with exiting the area after the movie. The Board wants this to be a fun family outing, so remember there is no alcohol allowed in the City Park.

The Board is very excited to present this to the community and if it is well received, we will plan another outing next Spring. Rain or windy conditions will cancel the event and a rain date will be set-up. Some limited advertising by businesses, groups and organizations can be shown on the screen prior to the movie. This will be done at no charge.
