Life Flight named Adrian Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month

By SHARON KIESEL
The Adrian Chamber of Commerce’s featured business for November is the Life Flight Eagle Air Ambulance Services, out of Harrisonville Missouri. The non-profit business is located at 27503 South SR 7, in southern Harrisonville, where it has been since 2000.
The Life Flight Service began operation in 1978 as a means to quickly get critically injured patients to a hospital. The air ambulance was especially needed in rural areas. The service in Harrisonville has 22 employees which include four full-time nurses, four medics, four pilots, five part-time staff and one mechanic. There are also four Life Flight Eagle helicopters and one Children’s Mercy Hospital helicopter.
In Adrian Friday to accept the Chamber of Commerce’s mug of flowers, were Life Flight Eagle representatives, Supervisor and flight paramedic Jim Johnson and Director of Business Development Stephanie Koetting. Jim explained the procedure used to bring an air ambulance to the scene.
The cost for the air ambulance is usually expensive because of the medical services and quick transportation to a hospital. To help with that fee, as a non-profit community service, Life Flight offers a membership program for families and individuals.
“The program protects people from the out of pocket expenses for the service,” Stephanie said.
For more information on the membership program only, check out the website at www.lifeflighteagle.org or call 1-800-936-9533. Again, this is for membership information only. The air ambulance is dispatched only through fire departments.
