Kids Day at Frontier Village

For many years’ volunteer members of the Western Missouri Antique Tractors and Machinery Association have gathered very early in the morning at Frontier Village to await the arrival of bus loads of 4th graders. The workers get all set up and have the fire going in the blacksmith shop, logs on the saw mill and apples ready to squeeze for cider. The railroad men get all the cars hooked up with the engines running. On this special day each year the children travel from area schools to watch crafts and displays scattered all over the Village.
This year the buses started arriving Tuesday, October 7th about 9am and in groups of 8 to 12 moved from station to station. The overwhelming favorite for the young folks each year is, of course, the railroad.
