Give blood on July 1

By ANNA LEE JAMES

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Adrian Tuesday, July 1, from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at the Optimist Building. We are entering one of the biggest holidays of the year. Your donation will make a difference for all those in need and will be greatly appreciated.

More than 38,000 pints of blood are needed in the U. S. every day. Only 38 percent of the population is eligible to donate and just a fraction of those eligible, about 8 percent, actually donate blood.
The need for blood is constant and the blood supply must be regularly replenished. We have donors here in Adrian that give regularly; however we could use help with new donors or old timers to return. Just because you were deferred for some minor reason doesn’t mean you can’t ever give. There is no age limit and most medicines are acceptable. We try our best to make a donor comfortable and make it an experience that they would enjoy returning.

Give us a chance and spend an hour of your busy day with us before you start celebrating the big holiday, 4th of July. You will be glad you did and those patients in need will say Thank You and you are greatly appreciated. As you read this article mark red on July 1, from 1:00-6:00 p.m.
