Family, Friends and Fellowship - Alumni return to Adrian

The 65th annual Adrian High School Alumni meeting was held Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the east gym at Adrian High School. President Eve Clark, Class of 1996, called the meeting to order. Paul Burhart, Class of 1977, opened with the invocation.
The second annual volleyball tournament, which was reported by Kelsi Wimsatt Robards, Class of 2001, was a great success and awaiting their next challengers. The 12th annual golf tournament was reported by Gerold Stephens, Class of 2004. everyone enjoyed the beautiful day and many prizes and awards were given.
The Adrian Christian Church (ACC) Band entertained he Adrian Alumni with a blast from the past, playing a medley of songs from graduating reunion years. The gym came alive with graduates enjoying the music.
President Clark then began the roll call of classes. Special recognition was given to the class having the highest percentage present, the oldest alumni present, the alumni traveling the farthest, the alumni with the most alumni children present, the alumni couple present married the longest and the alumni teacher present who taught the most years at Adrian R-III.
Don Arndt, Class of 1961 gave a very moving tribute in honor of the late Frank Enos, a very dedicated alumni. 2011 Senior Class Sponsor, Allison Oates, then introduced the 2011 graduating class to the Adrian Alumni. A motion was made and seconded to accept the 2011 seniors to the Adrian Alumni Association.
New officers for 2012 are: President, Heath Oates, Class of 1992; Vice President, Jeremy Neely, Class of 1993; Secretary/Treasurer, Carol (Saubers) Gregg, Class of 1963; Board Members, Paul Burhart, Class of 1977, Matthew Kendrick, Class of 1993 and Past President, Eve Clark, Class of 1996.
Following the closing of the meeting everyone was invited to the commons area for a delicious buffet prepared by Sharon Cumpton and the Memories of Mom Relay For Life team.
