Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody

By ANNA LEE JAMES

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Adrian, Tuesday, July 13, from 1-6 p.m., at the Optimist Building. During May all blood drives were very low, as was ours, so we are making a plea for donors on this trip. All types are in need, however O’s and A’s are in great need at present.

Back when my husband and I were working in scouting strong there was this little saying I ran across the other day. EVERYBODY, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, AND NOBODY. This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. We as blood donors feel this way at times. There will be plenty of donors I can forget about today. Then comes the day some member of your family needs blood. OH WHERE IS IT?

Mark July 13 on your calendar and take an hour out of your day to donate blood. If you can get inside the door by 6:00 p.m., we still will process you. So come on out as you arrive home from work or shopping. Also remember to say thanks to those volunteer ladies, as they give from 12:00 p.m. till 6 p.m. or later to make the bloodmobile possible. See you on Tuesday, July 13 to donate blood.
