Election: April 2007 (Unofficial Results)

The final tally (unofficial) is complete and the 2007 April election is over. Bates Countians stepped out and made their marks. They exercised their right. For the fourth time, a tax to finish the Courthouse tower renovation was approved. The 1/2 cent tax, for only one year, should bring in enough cash to complete the job.In Adrian, the race for north ward alderman was won by Mike Lemon, 135, defeating Joyce Talley, 77, and Candace Corley, 14. On the south side, challenger Bruce Scarborough, 89, defeated incumbent Bill Greenwood, 56. District # 5 Water BoardIn a heated and controversial race for two seats in the Bates County District #5 Water Board, incumbent Dale VanSlyke, 384, defeated Patti Bruto, 154. Also going on the board of the District #5 decision-makers is Bill Weeks. Weeks, 373, defeated Alan Sollars, 166 . (All of the results are not official until certified by the Bates County Clerk.
