Dump truck overturns in Adrian

A North Carolina man was injured in a single vehicle accident in Bates County, Thursday August 27, 2009. The accident occurred at 4:00p.m. on Missouri State Highway 18 at First Street on the west edge of Adrian.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jose Alfaro, 43, of Sanford North Carolina was traveling east in a 1996 Mack dump truck when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Alfaro received serious injuries and was transported by the Life Flight air ambulance to the Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

No summons were issued. The accident was investigated by Bates County State Troopers, Kurt Schmutzler, Cody Dunfee and Cpl. Chris Gach. They were assisted by the Adrian Police Department, the Bates County Sheriff’s Office, Bates County EMS and the Adrian Fire and Rescue.
