Donate blood on November 3

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Adrian on Tuesday, November 3, from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at the Adrian Optimist Building. The thoughts of being able to help someone or maybe save a life is a good reason to donate a unit of blood. It is simple and only takes about an hour. Nurses and volunteers are very helpful to get you through the process. All information is private and confidential. You donate one pint and your body soon replaces your blood.

You only have to be 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 lbs. and be feeling well that day. Eat plenty of iron rich foods and drink plenty of liquids. Avoid coffee, tea, soda, caffeine drinks. Beans, red meats, spinach and even molasses are some of the iron rich foods to eat. Get a good night’s rest and be ready to enjoy your hour with us. We may joke and do a little visiting while the day progresses.

Remember, “When you need blood, it’s like a parachute”. If it’s not there the first time you need it, there’s no need for it again. Tuesday, November 3 will be a lovely day for you as a donor and for those out there in hospitals that need your help. DONATE BLOOD!
