Donate blood on March 9

By ANNA LEE JAMES

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Adrian Tuesday, March 9 from 1:00 -6:00 p.m. at the Optimist Building.

With advanced technology and new medical treatments, blood needs are growing each year, but without new donors, blood collections fall short. In Adrian we have donors that give regularly or every eight weeks when the bloodmobile comes to town or others that give whenever they feel like giving an hour of their day. We need to change that attitude and give regularly. You only have to be 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good general health and feeling good that day to donate. People who have never given blood and repeat donors are encouraged to donate Tuesday, March 9. The process is quick and easy. Each donation can help as many as three patients in need.

Donors should eat a good meal and drink extra water before giving blood. All donors must have an ID. Change someone’s life, starting with your own, by donating blood Tuesday, March 9. See you there!
