Council hears water complaints

The Adrian Board of Aldermen met in regular session on Monday, May 12 at 7 p.m. at Adrian’s City Hall. Approximately thirty visitors were present at the meeting, most of whom were concerned about the amount of their water bills in the last month.
Mayor Ray Cusumano gave the floor to several Adrian residents, including Elaine Diehl, Laura Thiem, Lori Perkins and Norman Hilbus. These residents submitted concerns that the rising water rates “make it impossible for a family to have good hygiene” and that they would “run people out of town”. It was also suggested that a provision be made for persons on a fixed income.

Cusumano then stated that he and the council would address this problem and continue to try to find a solution. Full minutes of the meeting will be printed in next week’s Adrian Journal.
