The community helps Adrian firefighters reach Boot Block goal

Adrian Fire Chief Gary Dizney said the fire crew reached the goal they set for the annual MDA Boot Block. This year, the Firefighters Boot Block donations were close to last year and totaled $3290.
Chief Dizney said all money raised stays in the Kansas City area and is used locally to help with MDA research and to aide patients in the area. The funds are also used to help send MDA patients to a special camp in Linwood, KS.
On Labor Day, Chief Dizney and Fire Department Chaplain Jerry Bearce presented the check to MDA officials in Kansas City and were seen on KCTV-5. “We are very thankful for the support from the community and from everyone who helped raise money for the MDA telethon,” Chief Dizney said.
