Bill Thurman of Archie and a newly formed Civil War re-enactors group (Bledsoe’s Battery) began learning the procedures to shoot an 1857, 12-pound full scale replica of a Napoleon Cannon used in the Civil War. Pictured, each member present learned the five positions in firing the cannon. At the end of the training session, a live shot echoed through Frontier Village and Adrian.

The cannon weighs close to 3,000 lbs and takes approximately one pound of black powder per shot. The price of black powder today costs approximately $15.00 per shot.
