City replaces water lines on Main Street

In the heat of the summer, the Public Works Department has been digging ditches for the Main Street Water Line Replacement Project that will extend from Adrian Service Center to Old 71 Highway. Pictured, Public Works Director Mark Griffith is digging a ditch at the corner of Main Street and Old 71 Highway so that boring work could take place. Stark Boring Company did the boring work under Old 71 Highway, Houston and Missouri Streets.

Mayor Larry Ritter was instrumental in obtaining a permit from MODOT for the project and in getting them to allow the City to replace the line within the MODOT easement.
