Book signing for local authors

The Southside Cafe in Butler was the setting on Tuesday, August 4 for a book signing event. The book “I Stand - A Miraculous Journey From Paralysis to Praise,” was co-authored by former Merwin area resident Brenda Black and gospel music recording artist Pam Morgan.

As the Morgan family headed south for an evening service in Stockton, Missouri, they were in an accident at the Miami Creek Bride. Phil and the girls were injured. Pam was ejected from the van and lay crumpled against the side of the bridge, critically injured. The book “I Stand” tells of about the miracle that help arrived so quickly, from the state trooper who was on routine patrol in the area, to several people just passing through who were in the right place at the right time and had the medical experience to help an injured woman, who they at first thought, had died.
