Bloodmobile coming to Adrian on March 10

By ANNA LEE JAMES

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Adrian, Tuesday, March 10, from 1-6 p.m. at the Adrian Optimist Building. At the past bloodmobiles, our deferred donors are usually low in hematocrit. This is the percentage of your total blood volume that consist of oxygen-carrying red blood cells. To be accepted as a whole blood donor, your hematocrit must be at least 38 percent. In order for donors to keep this percent, they must increase their intake of iron-rich foods.
After reading all this come on Tuesday, March 10 and make a donation of blood for someone in need. Eat a good meal and drink extra fluids. Bring your Red Cross donor card or a photo I.D. You must be 17 years of age (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 lbs. and feel well the day of the donation.
Hope to see you Tuesday, March 10 from 1-6 p.m. at the Adrian Optimist Building.
