Blood donors in need...low U.S. blood supply
By ANNA LEE JAMES
The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Adrian, Tuesday, May 11, from 1:00 - 6:00pm at the Adrian Optimist Building.
The U.S. blood supply is very low and every eligible donor should at least show up and try to donate. If you have been deferred before, you should try again. You can help greatly by trying to keep you iron supply up to the standard that is required. Eating iron rich foods and drinking orange juice and water are all good examples. We must remember that patients in need really need your help. That can come by donating blood on Tuesday, May 11, 2010. We have large holidays coming up and the need is always great during and following due to auto accidents, boating accidents and other accidents of different kinds.
It takes less than an hour to donate and you will go away knowing you have helped someone else have a happy day. Most medicines are acceptable, get a good night’s sleep, drink plenty of water and fluids (avoid tea, coffee, sodas or other beverages with caffeine), wear loose clothing, and eat a healthy meal before coming to the Bloodmobile. Stay well and I will see you on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
