BCI now accepting plastics

The Bates County Industries recently received two grants to purchase equipment to be used in their recycling services. The sheltered workshop received a grant from MFA to buy a floor scale and they received another grant from Quad Lakes Solid Waste Management to purchase a new baler to accommodate the recycling and baling of Number 1 and Number 2 type plastics.

BCI was already accepting newspapers, cardboard and other papers which the employees sort and bale. They also accept aluminum. And now, they can accept plastics as well.

New Director Pam Martin said bringing paper, cardboard and plastic products to BCI for recycling helps everyone and the environment. She said the workshop appreciates all the support it can get.

Bates County Industries accepts the recyclable materials anytime from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. They are located just off Business 71 Highway on Route TT (5002 road) south of Passaic, near the Butler Airport. The big yellow building is easy to locate.
