On 5/5/14, the Bates County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Megan D. Henderson (pictured right) of Amoret, Missouri, for 1st Degree endangering the welfare of a child. On 1/15/14, Detectives received a report of a sexual assault of a child. During that investigation it was discovered that Henderson knowingly moved her two young children into the home of a registered sex offender and left them unattended with that sex offender on multiple occasions.

On 5/7/14 the Bates County Sheriff’s Detectives made an arrest on Michael J. Coffman (middle picture) of Butler, Missouri. Coffman was arrested on 6 counts of endangering the welfare of a child and 3 counts of 2nd degree assault. Coffman’s bond was set at $90,000 cash or surety. Michael Coffman is out of jail on bond.

A second subject is currently being sought in connection with the case. That subject has been identified as Shawna K. Coffman (pictured far right). A warrant for Shawna Coffman has been issued for 6 counts of endangering the welfare of a child and 3 counts of 2nd degree assault.
