The Lady Blackhawks took on the El Dorado Bulldogs last Tuesday, October 18. They played hard but fell short of the win, at least on the court. Between the Junior Varsity and Varsity volleyball games, the players asked an honored group of winners to come to the court for recognition. It was an emotional, heartfelt moment when the JV and Varsity players, Head Coach Kelsi Robards and Assistant Coach Jessie McWilliams presented certificates to the breast cancer survivors in the crowd. The players made banners that lined the walls of the gym on the 18th and sold “Pink Out” t-shirts as a fundraiser. Head Coach Robards shared her sentiments: “I am beyond thrilled with how our community members, staff, and students came together for the First Annual Pink Out. We were able to raise over $600.00 to donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The volleyball team and coaches would like to offer appreciation to everyone who helped us in the fight against breast cancer.”
