Adrian tradition continues as the first day of school nears

Midnight practice, a tradition that started in the mid-1980’s, signifies the beginning of Blackhawk football (right), volleyball and softball (far right). At 12:01am on August 9, Adrian athletes and coaches began practice.

Under the direction of Band Director Allison Oates and Drum Majors Liz Wood (senior) and Crystal Lentz (junior), the Blackhawk drumline (middle picture) began practice on August 10. The AHS cheerleaders braved the heat to practice for the upcoming football season.

School-affiliated organizations are looking forward to this year. The Booster Club and PTO encourage members to pitch in and help. The more teamwork, the greater the impact for the students. Learn more about the Booster Club and PTO during Open House.
