The Adrian Blackhawks boys and girls track teams traveled to Jefferson City last week for the MSHSAA Class 2 State Track Championships.   A very successful season was wrapped up with impressive performances in individual events and relays including a state champion and three broken school records.

The girls team was led by senior Kamiron Luptak with a trio of freshmen putting up very strong performances.   Luptak finished 9th in the 100m dash.  Freshman Bailey Reed finished 13th in the long jump while fellow freshman Lauren Shipley placed fourth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 47.51 seconds.  Luptak, Shipley and Reed were joined by the third freshman on the team, Brenna Adkins, for two relays that brought home hardware and set school records.

On the boys side, junior Austin Corley was the lone participant for the Blackhawks. He put in an incredible body of work at the state meet.  Corley finished second in the 110m hurdles. In the 300m hurdles, Corley finished first, breaking the school record and becoming a State Champion.
