Adrian Optimists recognize area students

Students of the Month are selected by the staff of Miami, Ballard and Adrian High Schools based on the following criteria: character, attendance, attitude towards others and school, behavior, leadership and improvement in or good grades.

For their hard work in school, Students of the Month will receive a certificate of recognition and $20.00 in Adrian Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Bucks” from the Adrian Optimist Club.

It is the goal of this program to honor as many students as possible and each school has its own system for determining the student. For the month of January, Miami has not selected a particular individual.

The Ballard student selected for January 2011 is Derek DeHart. Adrian’s staff selected Kaley Keating for the month.
