Adrian Optimists give scholarships for AHS students taking dual credit classes

With the ever-changing use of technology, the need for dictionaries for Adrian students has changed. Instead of a bound book of numerous words, they now access a student dictionary using I-pads or other computers at the school. Every year the Adrian Optimist Club earmarks funds to purchase dictionaries for Adrian students. Because they no longer need a dictionary, funds from the Floyd Buhr Memorial will now be used to help Adrian High School sophomores, juniors and seniors pay for dual credit college classes from Central Methodist  University and the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Dual credit classes provide a great opportunity for students to earn both high school and college credits.

Five AHS students received a scholarship for dual credit classes in the amount of $200.00 each.
