Adrian High School is ranked #8 in the State of Missouri
Each year students in grades 3-12 across the State of Missouri are required by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to complete MAP testing. MAP assessments are required under the “Outstanding Schools Act” that was enacted in 1993. Test results show academic achievement and program accountability. Test results do not qualify school districts for additional funding.
According to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Adrian High School ranks in the top 10 of Missouri High Schools. AHS jumped from being ranked 22nd in 2010 to 8th out of 531 high schools statewide in 2011. Schools with fewer or about the same number of students are ranked ahead of Adrian. Park Hill South High School, a large, affluent school near Kansas City, ranked 9th behind Adrian. Area schools rank anywhere from 102 - 507. “I am very proud of everyone involved in preparing our children for a brighter future, and all of those who are committed to Blackhawk Pride through academic excellence,” said Board of Education President Gary Tolle.
Adrian High School test results in Algebra I and English II have increased. English II scores indicate that 91.5% scored at grade level or above. Algebra I scores are at 83.4%, an increase of nearly 10% from last year’s scores.
