Adrian heliport in the works

By SHARON KIESEL

The Adrian Optimist Club, the Adrian Lions Club and the rural and city sides of the Adrian Volunteer Fire Department are working together to provide better emergency services for the Adrian community. A new Adrian Heliport is being constructed to make air ambulance services better available to those needing speedy ambulance services to appropriate hospitals.
The joint effort for the heliport involves the community as well as the two clubs and the fire department. Adrian area residents are invited to help with the building of the landing pad. The heliport will give emergency services the ability to provide faster access to emergency medical aid for accident victims or those with traumatic medical emergencies.
Anyone who wants to help with the community betterment project can do so by donating qualified, tax deductible funds, to any of the following: The Adrian Optimist Foundation Inc., P.O. Box 172, Adrian, MO 64720; or The Adrian Lions Club, P.O. Box 81, Adrian, MO 64720. Be sure to mark on the envelope and check, “For Adrian Heliport.”
If you wish to donate through the Adrian Fire Department, contact Chief Gary Dizney at 816-297-4189 or 816-935-5595 for more information.
