Adrian Food Pantry closes its doors

The Adrian Ministerial Alliance announced late last week, that effective immediately, the Adrian Food Pantry has closed its doors. The reason given is that the food pantry is no longer serving the 50 minimum clients as required for participation through Harvesters. “Many of the local people being served by the food pantry are picking up their government commodities in Butler, and while there, they are accessing the Butler Food Pantry,” said Ministerial Alliance spokesman Paul Burhart. He is the pastor of the Adrian Christian Church. “Our number of local clients has now dropped to 30.”

“We are still helping those in need,” Pastor Burhart said. “We are just doing it another way.” He said the Ministerial Alliance still needs donations, but financially rather than canned goods. Anyone wanting to donate or who needs assistance can go through any of the four churches in the Adrian Ministerial Alliance. For donations, be sure to specify which fund, “Food” or “General Fund” for which you are contributing.
