Adrian Community Library celebrates five years

By PATRICIA PIKE
The Adrian Community Library celebrated its 5th year anniversary on Saturday, August 6, 2011. The event, hosted by the Adrian Community Library Board, Librarians and Volunteers, included a book sale, refreshments, and local authors presentations.
Library Board President Jeannette Emerson welcomed guests and introduced the speakers for the program: Don Arndt, Dr. Rusty Womelduff and Liz Ray. All published authors, each spoke of the inspiration, challenges and rewards of writing, read an excerpt from their work and answered questions from the audience. The culmination of the event was the fund-raising, raffle drawing for a new scooter obtained through Adrian Service Center Sales. The winner of the scooter was Gary Dizney. In conjunction with the Library event, the Adrian Chamber of Commerce provided free cotton candy and snow cones and Wimfield’s on Main offered a lunch special to the community.
