Adrian community honors veterans

On November 11, Veterans Day, Americans across the country pay tribute to the men and women who have defended or continue to defend our freedom. Members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard have answered a big calling to help secure America at every turn.
In accordance with the Proclamation issued by President George W. Bush, Adrian has strong participation from the VFW and the community in this special day. Main Street is lined with American flags, as is the overpass on 71 Highway. Flags fly at Crescent Hill Cemetery. During an assembly for grades K-12 at Adrian R-III, the students and faculty honored nearly 20 area veterans for their selfless sacrifices and courage. It was touching and heartfelt.
The United States is forever indebted to its veterans. For those who laid down their lives in freedom’s defense, they made the ultimate sacrifice for our protection and freedom. God bless our veterans and military, and God Bless America.
