The Adrian Chamber of Commerce’s featured business for the month of February is Engelhardt Bookkeeping and Tax Service located at 43 East Main Street in Adrian. The business, now owned by Troy Engelhardt, was formerly owned and operated by Richard Griffith for 37 years. Troy has owned the business since January 2010.
Richard Griffith started the bookkeeping and tax service in 1972 and now, while semi-retired, still works with clients, along with Troy. Troy’s mother, Elaine Engelhardt assists in the office during the tax season.
Troy earned a couple of degrees in business management, accounting and computer programming. He graduated college in May 2002 and worked in Kansas City. Since 2009, he has been working on his own.
Engelhardt Bookkeeping and Tax Service LLC, offers clients everything from tax preparation to payroll services, bookkeeping and anything to do with business management. He helps small businesses in rural areas to be able to recognize their strengths and weaknesses and helps them deal with the financial side of their business so they can better concentrate on the growth side. He works with clients in any area of finances. He serves clients in the Adrian area as well as Butler, Harrisonville and Pleasant Hill.
He thanks the Chamber of Commerce for recognizing him and his business. “I also really appreciate the community for supporting me,” he added. Engelhardt’s business hours are subject to change after the tax season and normally runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
