The Adrian Marching Band and Color Guard attended the University of Central Missouri (UCM) Band Day and Homecoming Festivities on Saturday, October 23rd. Twenty-two bands participated in competition in an extremely well-attended parade and mass band performance for the pregame Homecoming show.
Adrian received the third place trophy and scored especially high in the area of music. Many younger players have joined the high school band for marching season and are to be especially commended for competing at such high levels. Senior Liz Wood, Drum Major, said: “The band has really grown. We were wary about the junior highers, but we really needed them and I’m glad we pulled together.” Judges specifically mentioned three members of the band in their comments, recognizing them for outstanding playing and marching; Senior quad drums, Brianna Pugh; Sophomore baritone, Chance Reynolds; and Sophomore Trumpet, Chase Reynolds.
