Adrian athletes wrestle their way to State

At Districts in Versailles last weekend, the Adrian Blackhawks finished 4th overall. In addition, seven wrestlers qualified for the state tournament which will be held at Mizzou Arena February 17, 18 and 19.

At 103 pounds, sophomore Chase Reynolds finished third in his weight class. Senior Brandt McMillan revenged a loss previous in the year by winning a decision in the district finals. Senior Bobby McCarl knocked off the number one ranked wrestler in the finals to capture his district title. Senior Luke Hough captured his District title by revenging a loss from just a week ago. Freshman Nathan Chamberlain finished third and will be making his first trip to the High School State Tournament. Junior Vince Romi revenged a previous loss on his way to qualifying. Freshman Christian Graham did what most freshmen are not able to do and that is qualify for the state tournament at heavyweight. Not only did Graham qualify he made the district finals, but fell short of a district title and finished second.
