An abundance of appreciation for Thankgiving

By MICHELE BURRIS
The tradition of Thanksgiving dates way back in our nation’s history. For the 26th year, Adrian Elementary Teacher Lori Schmidt’s third graders (pictured) portrayed Pilgrims and Indians who joined together for the first Thanksgiving. When Adrian readers were asked, "What are you thankful for?" they spoke out.
There are so many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2011. Karen Clark, a longtime Adrian Journal reader, said: “I thank God for all the good years spent with my two sons and my husband. AND...I am thankful for the years to come with the rest of my family. Happy holidays, everyone!” Stacey Evans is thankful for “family, friends, and the goodness of God!”
Brenda Jurgens shares her gratitude. “I am thankful for many things. One is that I get the opportunity to substitute at school and work with amazing children. Our futures hold great things with these children taking the lead.”
The Adrian Journal gives thanks to each and every one of you who read the paper, who advertise, and who contribute pictures, stories and information. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
