The Blackhawk wrestling team finished 4th in the Class 1 District 2 Championships held Friday and Saturday at Versailles High School. The Blackhawks qualified 7 wrestlers for the state tournament.

“We wrestled well as a team. It was great to see our guys revenge some of the losses from earlier in the year. That tells me that we are working harder than everyone else, and that is exactly what we have to continue to do even after the season is over to continually close the gap on those other teams finishing above us. The District tournament was a physical and mental roller coaster. The seniors really stepped up in the finals. On paper we would have been considered the underdogs in all of those matches. The boys had something different in mind. I am so proud of our team, I have never been around a better group of kids. The following for the team continues to grow every week and our crowd gets larger and louder. I want to thank everyone who made the trip to Districts and hope they can all make it to Columbia. We appreciate all of the support. La Familia!"
