The Adrian Senior Division (5th and 6th grade) Football Team recently completed an undefeated season going 8-0 in the South 71 Football League. The team averaged around 27 points per game offensively while holding their opponents to just six points per game throughout the eight game season.

Saturday, 10-30-10, the Adrian Blackhawk Team traveled to Drexel to take on the Bobcats in the Senior League Super Bowl. The Blackhawks were victorious in the big game led by sixth-grader Casey Reeves’ six catch two touchdown performance. Drexel’s lone score came after the Bobcats returned the second half kickoff to the eight yard line.

After Chase Newport made a terrific onside kick recovery, the Adrian White Team started the game with a 13 play 55 yard drive that ended with a Casey Reeves’ 14 yard touchdown reception. Connor Pruitt had a huge fourth down reverse run from his tight end position that set up the score. For the next touchdown for the Blackhawks, Caleb Shanks scampered into the endzone from three yards out. Drexel did manage a first down on their next possession but they soon surrendered the ball to the Blackhawks once again. Shanks scored again for the Blackhawks on their next possession, this time from two yards out. Hayden Stark kicked the conversion and the Blackhawks were up 20-0. Drexel tried to get their passing game going on their next possession but Reeves picked off a Bobcat pass and scampered 75 yards to pay dirt, bringing the halftime score to 27-0.

Drexel came out ready to play in the second half and Ty Wolfkamp scored on an eight yard run. The Blackhawks responded with two more touchdowns in the second half and never giving Drexel the opportunity to get back into the football game. Reeves had another 10 yard touchdown reception and Tanner Pitts scored from one yard out bringing the final score to 39-6 in favor of the Blackhawks.
