Two wins, one loss for Adrian Little League Football teams

Adrian’s little league white/grey teams, coached by Neil Tallman, Randy Reed and Jerry Pitts, hosted Midway on Saturday, October 24.
The Blackhawks flag team offense started the game on the right foot with a 20-yard touchdown run by quarterback Neal Martinez. Martinez scored another touchdown, this one from eight yards out. Right before halftime the Vikings returned the kick all the way for a touchdown. At halftime the score was 13-12, Adrian. Both defenses stepped up in the second half, not allowing a touchdown. The final score was 13-12 with the Blackhawks defeating the Vikings.
Adrian’s third and fourth graders came out ready to play. Running back Garret Judy ran in a 10-yard touchdown to open up the game. Judy also made the extra point kick. At halftime, the score was 16-0. Adrian won the second game of the afternoon, 30-7.
The fifth and sixth grade Blackhawks headed into the last game looking to win all three games. Adrian dug themselves into a hole by allowing three touchdowns and inconsistent offense in the first half. Adrian played tough but Midway was winning the field position battle and took advantage of it. The score at halftime was 18-0. Midway tried to seal up the victory by passing, but Caleb Shanks picked it off and returned it 24 yards for Adrian’s first touchdown. The Vikings connected on the next pass and the receiver took it for a touchdown. The final score was 24-6, Midway.
