Maybe it was the weather, maybe it was an injury to a key player or maybe it was just matchup issues with a very good team. Whatever it was, words cannot begin to describe what happened in the sectional game of the 2008 Missouri class one playoffs between the Adrian Blackhawks and the Greenfield Wildcats. From the first drive of the ball game to the final snap Adrian found it difficult to find the weakness of their opponent and exploit it to the hometeam's advantage.
Adrian’s final play of the game was a pass that was picked off by the Greenfield defender and returned for a touchdown as time expired giving the visiting team a 26-0 shutout of the host team. Coach George Bruto commented, “It was a great year. 10-2 is a great record. The coaches and team would like to thank all the parents and fans for their support this year. It was great!”
Far right: #71 Tyler Tolle and #13 Skylar Kariker stopped the Greenfield Wildcats offense with a huge block on the play.
Middle: Brett Talley slams his way through the Wildcats offense for a tackle on their running back.
Right: Freshman Ethan Weeks hands off the ball to Josh Hubbard. Weeks stepped in as quarterback after an injury to the starter, Kyle Knuth.
